Hannah Meiklejohn…
This blog began as a space for some of my creative writing. It hasn’t quite worked out that way…
Being a bit shy about sharing my original poems or works of fiction, the blog has turned into a bit of a dumping ground for book reviews, anecdotes of working in a library, comments on grammar, and anything else remotely linked to books, reading, literature, book illustration and book cover design.
As for me, I am interested in exploring the relationship between text and image. I have a special interest in philosophy and illustration in children’s literature, comics and graphic novels.
My degree is in history and after that I decided to take a diploma in creative writing and literature, where I focused on philosophy in children’s literature. I am working towards a Masters in Philosophy at the moment which I should finish in January 2015 (wish me luck!).

I also like all of the forms of writing you mentioned, I really enjoy writing essays as well, they can be both fun and interesting. I look forward to taking a look at your blog.
God Bless,
Donna
Oh, lucky you! Libraries, books, creative writing courses, history, dog-walking/lovin’; you are speaking my language, Hannah!
Thanks for your comments both. Brigitte, I love how you sum it up with a few key words – Libraries, books, creative writing courses, history, dog-walking/lovin’ this should be my new gravitar hovercard statement! 😉
Thanks for stopping by my blog
You have a great blog. Thanks for looking at mine too! 🙂
Do you have a good reads account? I would like to follow what you’re reading.
I don’t actually. I’ve seen it on other blogs but I haven’t set one up myself. I’ll look into it though 🙂
Hannah–hello and thanking you for the follow!
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
My dream job! The Goodreads account is a good idea. I just signed up myself. Well worth it, I prefer to know what librarians think anyway. So what that I’m biased!
Hello AWI! Thanks for the follow. I have popped along to your blog to follow too 🙂
I keep meaning to check out Goodreads. A few others have suggested it to me. It’s one of the many thing I’ve yet to get around to. I’ll get there one day 😉
No pressure 😉 I literally JUST got signed up myself. I’m not even sure how it works, yet.
Look forward to your stories Hannah.
Thank you. I’m still very shy when it comes to my writing. I’m getting there though! Thanks for your encouragement. Watch this space 😉

Hi Hannah,
As I was searching for 20th Century Children Literature in Lake District, I’ve came across your name and your blog.
I was wondering if you could actually gave a talk to a group of students from Singapore with regards to those Children Literatures at Lake District.
Kindly contact me through my email and let’s see what can be done from there.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Edwin
I would be delighted Edwin! I have sent you an email. 🙂

Have you used and discussed the analysis of size, location, or light in picturebooks you could share?
